The Arctic and the deep seafloor have been contaminated by plastic pollution despite no human presence. The purpose of this paper is to describe the sources and impacts of Arctic plastic pollution, including plastic debris and microplastics that have entered terrestrial environments and aquatic systems, the cryosphere and the atmosphere.
