This study examined the abundance, types, and spatial distribution characteristics of microplastic pollution in the silts and surface waters of the Yellow River Basin. It was observed in the Yellow River Delta Wetland that the spatial distribution of microplastic pollution increased from upstream to downstream. As a result of various forms of exposure to plastic, the Yellow River beach area may suffer serious effects on aquaculture and human health. There is a need to control microplastic pollution in the Yellow River Basin, as well as to increase the capacity of biodegradable microplastics and to improve the engineering degradation capacity of plastic waste.
